Metlife Stadium, NY NJ Super Bowl XLVIII

(Susan Candelario)Living so close to the Metlife Stadium, I decided to take a drive and see how the preparations where coming along for Super Bowl XLVIII, as well to see if I was able to capture a few photographs of the exterior.
Metlife Stadium located in Rutherford, New Jersey, seemed to be close to being fully prepared to host NY NJ Super Bowl XLVIII. That was yesterday afternoon… before mother nature decided to dump some more snow in our area today.

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is the trophy awarded each year to the winning team of the National Football League’s championship game. (Susan Candelario)I was surprised to see that driving right into the parking and around the stadium lot was not an issue. There was lots of action with employees diligently working in order to prepare the venue for such a spectacular sporting event that it will be hosting. One of the employees told my husband Anthony, that they were running behind schedule due to the recent storms we have had in the area. I guess todays added snow accumulations will not help the situation.

(Susan Candelario)I managed to take a few photographs of the exterior, but was really waiting for sunset, which was going to occur in approximately 20 minutes in order to photograph the Metlife Stadium sign lit up. That is when a nice but very stern security guard approached me and informed me that I had to leave immediately. He explained that due to security issues being on the premises, specially photographing without the proper credentials was grounds to getting arrested by the New Jersey State Police.

(Susan Candelario)Needless to say, I complied with his request and thought to myself that photojournalistic photographers must have their work cut out for themselves at times.
