Washington DC photographs
Sunrise At The Thomas Jefferson Memorial ~ A view to the sunrise and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and it’s reflection thru the Yoshino Cherry Tree Blossoms from the Tidal Basin in Washington DC during sunrise. Photographed during the Cherry Festival of 2013. ©2013 Susan Candelario SDC Photography
I was able to get to Washington DC to photograph during the peak of the Cherry Blossom Festival. The temperatures where higher than normal and needles to say it was packed with people. Many of the monuments are still undergoing restorations due to the damage caused by the earthquake in 2011, I still managed to photograph many of the places I had on my list.
US Capitol Rotunda ~ An interior view to the rotunda of the US Capitol. The rotunda is located below the Capitol dome. It’s neoclassical architecture style makes the rotunda very impressive. ©2013 Susan Candelario SDC Photography
Iwo Jima Memorial ~ The Marine Corps War Memorial also called the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, with dramatic storm clouds in the background and a starburst during sundown. ©2013 Susan Candelario SDC Photography
United States Capitol Building ~ A west side view at twilight of the regal dome and building of the United States Capitol in Washington DC. The stilled winds after sunset reflects the majestic building in the pool of water. ©2013 Susan Candelario SDC Photography
